ID Released For Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Parked Car, Tree In Fairfield

A man found dead inside a car following a single-vehicle crash in Fairfield County has been identified.

Steven J. Conneely, 33, of Fairfield, was found around 1:42 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, after the Fairfield Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting the crash, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras.

According to police, Conneely was found to have crashed into a parked car and then a tree on the property of a home located at the corner of Black Rock Turnpike near Finn Street in Fairfield.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Conneely dead in the vehicle, Kalamaras said.

There were no passengers in the vehicle and nobody else was injured as a result of this collision.

The crash is being investigated by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
